Local Love: Course Coffee Roasters
There is something special about walking into a coffee shop where you can feel the passion in each detail. Course Coffee Roasters has become a French Town favorite for both locals and tourists, and it’s easy to see why.
Owners Brandon and Sarah Runk’s passion for coffee, roasting, and community are evident in every detail of their space. Their inspiration to start sparked from Brandon’s passion and knowledge for roasting, Sarah’s background in coffee and the opportunity to share coffee stewardship, education and tasting experiences in an approachable, inviting space.
To learn more about Course Coffee Roasters and the people behind it, I asked them a few questions about their story, their passion for coffee, and what they love about serving the community. Here is what they had to say.
Tell us a little about your business.
“We are a small batch roaster that focuses on direct relationships/trade with farmers in the countries we work with. We also feature only single origin in order to steward and feature the crop from each country. We have a coffee bar that offers flights for tastings of each coffee we host.”
What is something customers love or always come back for?
“We make house made syrups and craft our own unique seasonal menu. We specialize in pour-overs and cold brew taps, which is unique in the industry.”
What's your favorite part about being part of the local community?
“We have our shop in the heart of a neighborhood. We love that the neighbors are regulars and we personally have become friends via the shop with so many incredible people.”
Is there anything exciting coming up that people should know about?
“We host Friday evening Nightcaps every other month on the 2nd Friday. You can find out about these events on social. We host another local businesses for food and have local musicians.”
